the confederates fired upon Fort Sumter, starting the Civil War.
Yesterday, a Georgia Historical marker was unveiled on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd at the site of the old train depot. A train depot that was there 150 years ago until Sherman's march through Atlanta in an effort that ultimately led to the Union victory and the freeing of all slaves, yet a local NAACP leader wants it moved. His reasoning you ask? He doesn't feel that the actions portrayed in the marker are equivalent to what Martin Luther King Jr. stood for. “It’s not wise," White told the AJC. "It’s in your face to be on MLK, who is associated with liberation and freedom.”
Really? You are that stupid?
