I really don't think Grantham is the guy...there's a possibility he won't join the staff til after signing day. That'd be a MASSIVE detriment
to recruiting. Just go after a decent, not great, non-BCS DC. Then, after Mark Richt's contract runs out he can go into the ministry and Bobo can be
promoted to HC. That way we'll always be stuck in the same fucking bullshit position of being better than USC, but not quite as good as UT, and getting our
asses pounded by Florida. Every so often, once every 3 years or so, we'll lose to Kentucky. We'll hover between 7 and 9 wins each season but continue
to beat Tech on a normal basis. Welcome to the future of Georgia football.
Do i believe this? No. But I'm fucking pissed off right now and I'm choosing to focus that on Coach Richt because he's the easiest target. |

The knock on Bumpas is that Gary Patterson really runs the defense. At this point Bumpas would probably turn us down, too. Fuckin' A, just go after some
high school coach.

Makes you wonder what it is about this job that everyone keeps turning it down. It isn't money according to everyone who we offered it too, is it that
they know something we don't?

I wouldn't have left if I was him. The Koenning thing was just stupid on CMR's part. Sounds like we just jumped in on him at the last minute, and we weren't serious enough about it and it was too late. And why would Kirby come to UGA? He will have a good year next year as Bama's DC which will only bump his stock up to be a head coach. And head coach money at a major program is several million a year. And hell, with Saban, who knows....he could up and leave Bama tomorrow and it wouldn't surprise me. That means Kirby would probably have a shot at that job. (On a seperate note.....I think it's probably for the best that we didn't get Kirby. To be honest, I don't know if he was qualified or not. He is very young, and has head coach aspirations) Whatever happened to hiring people that actually want the fucking job? |

Something to keep in mind....BVG was the DC at Western Illinois when CMR hired him to be UGA's DC.
I didn't realize that. I'm surprised everybody wasn't in an uproar back then over that shit! |

dncdawg wrote: That actually makes a good point Crispy. We hired CMR when he was an OC. Our job was a promotion for him. Now we are doing the equivalent of trying to hire Bowden instead of CMR. Not bad to aim high, but eventually when you keep getting turned down, it starts looking bad for the program and could hurt recruiting. *****meant DNC instead of crispy there

What about the DC from Georgia State? That D didn't give up a SINGLE point. That is a stingy defense. Either him or John Voigt's character from
"Varsity Blues", Bud Kilmer.
We could offer Will Muschamp $2 Bil/yr, HCIW, God-in-waiting, and 70 virgins but then the first time he lowered the boom and screamed the word "fuck", Richt would throw up in his mouth a little, cry himself to sleep, and fire him the next day.
